Supplier price change report

Turn an old and a new supplier price list into a reviewable SKU-level report before a cost update affects your margin.

Create a price change report

What a useful report shows

Match the same supplier's previous and current CSV or XLSX files by SKU, then separate valid changes from exceptions. A change report should not silently force a match when identifiers are duplicated or ambiguous.

SKUStatusPrevious costCurrent costChange
SKU-104Increased$12.00$14.40+20%
SKU-212Decreased$8.00$7.60-5%
SKU-307New—$9.00—
SKU-411Removed$5.50——

Review exceptions before acting

New and removed items are part of the report, not errors to hide. Currency or unit changes, missing prices and ambiguous SKU matches need review before they can support a price decision. If you map a selling price, CostRift can also surface margin at risk and a target selling price; it does not update your selling prices for you.

When this fits

Use this for two versions of one supplier's price list over time. If you prefer to perform the same review in a spreadsheet first, see the Google Sheets price-list comparison guide. If you have received quotes from several suppliers for the same purchase, use supplier quote comparison instead. For purchase-price variance against an order or standard-cost baseline, see the purchase price variance template; that is a different analysis.

Compare the two lists in your browser

Upload the old and current file, confirm the SKU and cost columns, then export or review the result.
