1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using CostRift, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. The service
CostRift is a web tool that helps you compare previous and updated supplier price lists, review the margin impact of cost changes, and explore pricing decisions such as target selling prices.
3. Your responsibility for supplier and pricing data
You are responsible for the accuracy of the supplier and pricing data you provide, for having the right to use it, and for any decisions you make based on the results. You remain responsible for verifying the data you compare.
4. No guarantee of outcomes
CostRift is a decision-support tool, not financial, legal, or business advice. Comparison results are calculations based on the data you provide and do not eliminate pricing, margin, or business risk. You are responsible for exercising your own judgment.
5. Local file processing
In the anonymous comparison workflow, your supplier price-list files are processed in your browser and are not sent to CostRift servers simply to run the comparison.
6. Account and security
If you create or sign in to an account, you are responsible for keeping your access secure and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorized use. You may use CostRift to access your own account but may not attempt to access another user's account.
7. Billing and subscriptions
CostRift offers optional paid subscription plans (currently Pro and Business) in addition to the Free plan. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically each month until canceled. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, our payment processor; CostRift does not store your card details. Prices are fixed amounts set in a small number of supported currencies based on your billing market; where your market isn't specifically supported, USD is used by default. A supported price is a fixed amount we set, not an automatic, continuously-tracked currency conversion — it does not change on its own as exchange rates move, though your card issuer or network may still apply its own fees.
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from your account settings or Stripe's billing portal. A scheduled cancellation keeps your paid plan's access until the end of the current billing period; after that, your workspace moves to the Free plan's limits and no data is deleted. Where a plan change is offered in your account, upgrading or downgrading between paid plans is subject to the options available to you at the time.
Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the request. For billing questions, contact us at [email protected]. As with the rest of the service (see Section 10 — Availability and changes), we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to paid features.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to disrupt or overload it, circumvent its security or rate-limiting controls, or use it in any way that violates applicable law.
9. Intellectual property
CostRift and its branding, interface, and content belong to the CostRift service. Your data and files remain yours.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change, add, or remove features over time and may update these terms, revising the effective date when we do.
11. Limitations of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CostRift is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on comparison results.
12. Termination and account access
You may stop using the service at any time. CostRift may suspend or terminate access where necessary to enforce these terms or protect the service, consistent with applicable law.
13. Applicable law
These Terms are subject to applicable laws. Depending on where you are located, mandatory local laws may also apply.
