How team roles work
Every workspace has one Owner. Everyone else is an Admin or a Member.
Owner
Full control of the workspace and billing. Invites and removes members, and is the only role that can transfer ownership.
Admin
Runs day-to-day team operations — invites teammates, manages roles — and uses the product normally. Does not control billing.
Member
Uses the product normally: compares prices, saves suppliers, and sees shared history. No team or billing administration.

Comparing supplier prices happens in your browser, whether you're on your own or on a shared workspace. When someone signs in and saves a comparison to history, the structured rows — not the original file — are stored, and every member of the workspace can see it. A shared workspace is private to the people you invite; nothing is shared with anyone else.

How many people does Business include?
Up to 5 people total in one shared workspace, and the Owner counts as one of the 5.
What if we need more than 5 people?
Contact us at [email protected]. We don't publish self-serve pricing above 5 seats yet.
What's the difference between Admin and Member?
Both use the product the same way day to day. Admin can also invite and manage teammates. Only the Owner controls billing and can transfer ownership.
Can we start on Pro and move to Business later?
Yes. Upgrading adds the shared workspace and team roles on top of the same account — your existing saved suppliers and history carry over.
What happens to team members if we ever downgrade?
Members are retained safely according to what the new plan allows rather than being deleted — if a plan includes fewer seats than you're using, the affected members keep their account but lose access to this workspace's data until the plan supports them again.
Does CostRift offer SSO, approval workflows, or other enterprise procurement features?
No. CostRift Business is built for a small purchasing team that wants one shared place to compare supplier prices — not a procurement suite. If your company needs enterprise features, it's worth knowing upfront that we don't offer them today.
Do our supplier files get uploaded anywhere?
Comparing prices happens in your browser either way. When someone on the team signs in and saves a comparison to history, the structured rows — not the original file — are stored so the rest of the workspace can see it.
